Biography

Described as possessing ‘a compelling stage presence’ and ‘lovely rich tone,’ British mezzo-soprano Naomi Boot recently graduated with First-Class Honours from the Royal College of Music, London, where she was a Douglas and Hilda Simmonds Scholar under the tutelage of Ben Johnson.

Her recent highlights include making her role debut as Baba the Turk in Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress with British Youth Opera this past Summer, and as Lucretia in Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia with Brunswick Vocal Arts this Autumn. She also sang in the Chorus of Women at the 2026 Last Night of the Proms alongside tenor Nicky Spence for a commemorative performance of ‘Nessun Dorma’ celebrating the centenary of Puccini’s Turandot. 

Naomi sings with Eton College’s Lower Chapel Choir and has participated in masterclasses with artists including Dame Ann Murray, Aigul Akhmetshina, Bernarda Fink, Joseph Middleton, Matthew Rose, David Parry, James Gilchrist, Anna Tilbrook, and Markus Hadulla. Her previous operatic roles include: Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel), Flora (The Enchanted Pig), and Orimeno (Erismena) in RCM Opera Scenes. In 2023, she performed in the UK premiere of Libby Larsen’s Barnum’s Bird with the RCM Opera Studio, and performed in Rossini’s L’italiana in Algeri with Scherzo Ensemble at Longhope Opera in 2025. 

Her concert repertoire includes Duruflé’s Requiem, Haydn’s Nelson Mass, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Regina Coeli, and Bach’s St John Passion. She also performed as the soloist with the RCM Symphony Orchestra and Chorus in Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s rarely heard Meg Blane, A Rhapsody of the Sea, conducted by Sofi Jeannin in Autumn 2025. She is a Young Artist with Leeds Song and Southrepps Music Festival. 

Naomi was recently awarded Third Prize in the Patricia Routledge English Song Prize, as well as Second Prize and Best Undergraduate Performance Prize in the Brooks Van der Pump Competition. She is also a recipient of the Folkestone on Song Luxon Amit Singing Bursary. She was a semi finalist in the Royal Overseas League Annual Music Competition, and a finalist in the Eastbourne International Singing Competition this year.
